End of Sumer Jam with Anders Osborne

Free Summer Concert Series!

Anders Osborne was born in 1966 in Uddevalla, Sweden and at a young age knew that he spoke the language of music and poetry well. He fell in love with everything from Vivaldi, Chopin and Black Sabbath to Robert Johnson, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison and Cat Steven’s to John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley. “Blues connected everything together for me," Osborne recalls. "The early rock, the R&B, the jazz, the singer-songwriters. Blues was like a thread running through everything." He began playing in open D tuning which gives his fretwork a signature sound and feel. "I first heard Open D on Joni Mitchell's Blue, and my fingers just fit the tuning.” Osborne travelled around Europe in his late teens and in 1986, when he was nineteen years old, he visited New Orleans. He fell in love with the city, and never left.

Jurassic Park in Concert

Welcome… to Jurassic Park!

An Immersive Film and Orchestra Experience

For this extraordinary production, the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra will assemble its largest orchestra to date, with more than 70 musicians performing John Williams’ legendary score live as the complete film is projected through the orchestra.

Performing an entire film score live to picture is one of the most virtuosic and technically demanding challenges in symphonic music. Originally composed and recorded in short, precisely timed sections, every moment of the score must now be performed live in perfect synchronization with the film.

Hear this iconic movie in an entirely new way, surrounded by the power and excitement of a live symphony orchestra.

The action-packed adventure pits man against prehistoric predators in the ultimate battle for survival. Featuring visually stunning imagery and groundbreaking special effects, this epic film is sheer movie magic 65 million years in the making.

Now audiences can experience Jurassic Park as never before: projected in HD with a full symphony orchestra performing John Williams’ iconic score live to picture.

This unique concert experience brings the live orchestra and full-length film together in a single field of view, allowing audiences to watch the musicians perform the score as the film unfolds above them. Because the orchestra is positioned in front of the screen, the bottom portion of the screen may be partially obstructed from some seats. Seating tiers and prices will reflect the degree of screen visibility from each section.
