Join Steamboat Art Museum and Ski Town Media on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 5–8 p.m. for an inspiring evening celebrating The Painted Words 2026. The museum's annual visual writing competition pairs art from the Oil Painters of America exhibit with the written word. Writers of all ages have responded to works on view with original poetry and prose, demonstrating how a single work of art can spark countless stories and perspectives.

Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of community, creativity and celebration featuring light snacks, refreshments, live readings and awards honoring this year's outstanding entries.
